Luis I. Becerra, MD - the University of Pennsylvania and Wills Eye Hospital fellowship-trained Neurologist and Neuro-Ophthalmologist since 1988. He is a graduate of the Pontifical Xaverian University School of Medicine with post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, Yale University, Temple University, and the University of London. Dr. Becerra was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy since 1988, honorably retired in 2010 with the rank of Commander, Medical Corps. His military service included general practice medical officer, neurologist, ophthalmologist, health care services aviation medicine general flight officer, and health care services contingency/operational trauma team trained officer. He was deployed in support of operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Uphold Democracy, Provide Promise, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. He was Director Medical Services of the largest overseas military medical facility (Okinawa, Japan) and Head Neurology Services Naval Hospitals Camp Pendleton and Okinawa, and Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Becerra is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Uniform Services University of the Health Sciences since 1995.
