dr-stephen-sergayStephen Sergay, MD was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and received his medical school training at the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, where he also served his internship.

He completed his Neurology residency training at the Harvard Longwood Program in Boston and subsequently served as a neurologist at the Lahey Clinic Foundation in Boston and was an instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School, before moving to Tampa in 1980.

Dr. Stephan Sergay is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.

He was Medical Director of the Neuro-Diagnostic Laboratory at Tampa General Hospital from 1984 to 1988.

He was President of the American Academy of Neurology (2007-2009). He has previously served in many other positions in the Academy.

Dr. Sergay was Founding Chair of the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (2003-2005)

He has been a Trustee of the World Federation of Neurology Board of Directors (2010-2013).

He is Affiliate Professor of Neurology, University of South Florida Medical School, Department of Neurology, Tampa, Florida

Dr. Sergay is married and has three daughters and four grandchildren.
