Renata Chalfin, MD

Renata Chalfin, MDRenata Chalfin, MD, is a board-certified neurologist proudly serving the Boca Raton community at First Choice Neurology. Having immigrated from the former Soviet Union as a young child, Dr. Chalfin was raised in Boca Raton and is deeply connected to the area. She graduated as a Salutatorian from Olympic Heights High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Education with Honors from Cornell University. While pursuing a Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins, she discovered her passion for clinical medicine and shifted her focus, earning her M.D. with distinction from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. There, she was awarded a full-tuition scholarship and inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the prestigious medical honor society. Dr. Chalfin completed her internship and neurology residency at the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Chalfin’s career began with her independent solo micro practice, Ideal Neurology Clinic, where she became known for her highly personalized and compassionate patient care. During the pandemic, she expanded her expertise as a tele-neurologist, delivering acute neurological care to more than 3,000 stroke patients across 200 hospitals in 30 states.

With a steadfast dedication to patient-centered care, Dr. Chalfin takes an integrative approach to treatment, addressing physical, psychological, and social factors while tailoring diagnoses and care plans to each patient’s unique needs. Her commitment to improving patients’ quality of life is mirrored by her passion for education, research, and advancing neurological care. Beyond clinical practice, she has served as a medical expert in independent medical examinations, disability claim reviews, and research trials, and as a reviewer of medical literature for public education.

Dr. Chalfin has a particular interest in treating conditions such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, migraines, and Parkinson’s disease—aligning with her lifelong fascination with the brain and nervous system.

She resides in Boca Raton with her husband, three sons, and their cat. In her free time, Dr. Chalfin enjoys baking, reading, gardening, pickleball, and arts and crafts. She is honored to serve the community that shaped her and continues to inspire her work.
