CIDP

Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a chronic, immune-mediated neurological disorder that damages the peripheral nerves. It causes inflammation that affects the myelin sheath, a protective covering around nerve fibers. Symptoms can include weakness, numbness, tingling, and pain in the extremities. Treatment options include immunosuppressive medications, steroids, and intravenous immunoglobulin.
