Bruce Kohrman, MD
Bruce Kohrman, MD is board certified in neurology and is fellowship-trained in neuro-ophthalmology. He evaluates and treats adults and teenagers for a wide variety of neurologic problems and has special interests in migraines, seizures, neuro-ophthalmology, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. In his practice of neuro-ophthalmology, Dr. Kohrman specializes in visual problems related to the brain and nerves including conditions such as double vision, optic nerve disease, visual field deficits, and unexplained visual loss.
For more than 14 years, Dr. Kohrman has also been active in medical research working as a principal investigator conducting clinical research trials with the pharmaceutical industry. These trials include the evaluation of new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, migraine, multiple sclerosis, and neuropathy.
Additionally, Dr. Kohrman has served as an expert witness in a wide variety of forensic neurology cases involving neurologic and neuro-ophthalmologic disorders and injuries.
After graduating from Stanford University as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Kohrman graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his neurology residency training at Harvard University in the Harvard-Longwood Neurology Program and then completed two years of neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He has served as a voluntary associate professor of medicine in the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami.
Dr. Kohrman’s practice is located in the South Miami Hospital Medical Arts building located across the street from South Miami Hospital.
