FDA Approves Promising Alzheimer’s Treatment

Leading Florida Neurologists Available to Speak about Biogen Aducanumab Treatment

Biogen's Aducanumab Promising Alzheimer’s TreatmentAlzheimer’s patients and their families, as well as the medical community, are celebrating today’s decision by the FDA. They approved Biogen’s Aducanumab, a promising infusion treatment for Alzheimer’s patients.

Dr. Jeffrey Gelblum, MD, a board-certified neurologist with First Choice Neurology, the nation’s largest neurology practice, has been closely following the approval process and is thrilled about the outcome.

“For 18 years, we have been operating in a treatment desert,” he said. “This monthly infusion treatment will be a game-changer for patients. These patients otherwise end up in long-term care facilities. My colleagues and I are anxious to get started with the process of offering this hope to our patients across Florida.”

The treatment requires monthly infusions and extensive diagnostics to determine eligibility. It must be administered at comprehensive neurology centers. First Choice Neurology physicians are located in more than 40 locations. These include Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties, as well as the Tampa Bay area in Central Florida.
